:: The Clay Bridges Communications Story

Clay Bridges Communications has been a long-running entity that has traversed several states. It was launched by President and Founder Melissa Leembruggen in 1991 while she was in graduate school at Auburn University. During her last term she began working with a training company as a hired contractor in the Montgomery, Alabama-area.

Melissa worked for many major clients (including the State of Alabama), in developing training materials and facilitating sessions. At the same time, she was also free-lancing for the School of Forestry’s Continuing Education Program and teaching workshops on negotiating and general communication skills.

Clay Bridges Communications then moved to the Atlanta, Georgia-area in 1995 and worked with clients on improving business practices, and community relations.

Another move took Clay Bridges Communications to the Detroit, Michigan-area in 2001. Melissa focused on training new groups, team building, and encouraging others to improve communication habits through keynote speaking. Several of her main clients in this area were various Mothers of Pre-schoolers (MOPS) groups. While In Michigan, she met two of her current Clay Bridges speaking partners: Debbie Pierson and Colleen Eichelberger.

Finally, in 2006 Clay Bridges Communications moved to the Dayton, Ohio-area. Currently in Ohio, Clay Bridges continues to develop unique and strategic partnerships to further strengthen our core skill sets by reaching out in new areas that enhance what we are all ready doing.

Clay Bridges Communications provides events for organizations in four areas:

1) Motivational programs provide a keynote speaker who brings engaging resources and relevant information to meet your group’s need and areas of interest.

2) Educational programs are great for ages two to ninety-two and are usually focused on subjects related to our published material: how an author works, how an artist works, and/or book readings. Most events provide reproducible handouts and/or activity pages, question-and-answer sessions, and can provide book signing opportunities.

3) Communication training programs is a highly interactive time, utilizing custom designed materials specifically for your group participants. The Clay Bridges team will analyze group needs and prepare material to target recommended communication issues. Several days are needed to effectively analyze, prepare material, and then present the training to your group.
