The Brandon Student Design Award

Posted by Melissa Leembruggen on January 10, 2011 at 3:22 PM

We are pleased to announce The Brandon Student Design Award. This award seeks to honor the young design talent of Brandon Haskins (1988-2010) who was the acting Chief Creative Officer of CBP at the time of his death. Brandon had a natural talent that blossomed through design courses as a high school and college student. However, Brandon's greatest growth in his design skills came through mentorship and active participation in real life design projects.

The Clay Bridges team enjoys working with and developing young talent through our internship program and now through this design challenge award. We could not think of a better way to challenge the future potential of graphic design students than with a real life book cover project.

Author Dr. David Bone (Tipp City, OH) of our upcoming Spring release Fear Comes Quickly was thrilled to have his book selected as the subject of the first student design award. Dr. Bone enjoyed working with our Summer/Fall Writing Intern Rebecca McFarland and felt that this would be a great way to honor Brandon's memory.

Each New Year we will announce the new book for the competion that will end at the end of January annually. Help us spread the word to encourage students to put their skills to a real life test and to build their resume!
